Using a cookie cutter to make shapes out of a cake?
I want to bake a cake and then use cookie cutters to cut Halloween shapes out and serve them individually to my party guests. Should I use a 13x9 inch pan? Do I reduce the oven temperature or baking time? Any other suggestions?
Thanks!
Happy Halloween!
Use any sheet pan recipe in your cookbook and then use the cookie cutters as stencils. Cut around them with a long-bladed knife for nice, high cakes. Or, if you'd rather serve flatter cakes, then use your favorite sheet pan recipe in a larger pan than the recipe calls for and start checking for doneness with a toothpick after the surface starts to look dry.
