have a leak under kitchen sink. copper pipe. it has a push thing?
when i push it down it stops leaking and when i let go. it springs up and starts leaking. does anyone know what that connector thing is??ty can i replace this with something else to stop the leak? i have no idea what it is called.
Sounds like maybe it is a compression fitting. Is it a copper pipe that looks like it goes though a nut? If so, try tightening the nut with a wrench. Do not overtighten, just give it a little turn (clockwise), hopefully that will stop the leak.

Copper vessel sinks originated as vessels made for bathing in ancient times, when there was no form of running water. Modern day vessel sinks are a stylish way to design your kitchen or bathroom.
Vessel sinks are different in that they sit on top, instead of within the counter itself. Thanks to this feature, they can be made into nearly any shape or size and used on any counter top, even on surfaces that weren't necessarily made to hold a sink. These versatile sinks are found in a wide variety of materials such as glass, marble, and of course copper and can be fabricated in any number of shapes, depths and texture.
One of the unique points of this particular sink type is that you don't have to match the colors in your room with those of the sink. This feature gives you an additional flexibility to find your creative side. Even if a copper vessel sink has a modern look, it will still work beautifully with other kinds of decor, giving you many more choices than you would have with traditional style sinks.
If you are considering buying a vessel sink, do some measuring to make sure the existing plumbing can accommodate the new sink. Vessel sinks are usually more shallow than traditional sinks and require a lower counter height because the sink itself rests on top. You may have to hire someone to adjust the height of the existing fixtures so you can use the sink without strain. If you're on a budget or would just rather not change the plumbing, you can easily find a sink that is shallow and can sit on top of the counter without adjustment.
Yet another feature of these kind of sinks is how they can bring the extraordinary out in an otherwise ordinary kitchen or bath. This means that even if you have a very limited budget, you can add a sink that will completely change the look of a room. In addition, the striking look of a vessel sink instantly draws visitor's eyes from the room right to the sink.
The last bit of advice about this kind of sink is to make sure the water flow is directed towards the center of the sink, so that there's no splash. Also think about having the fixtures come out of the wall, rather than the cabinet, which provides you with your own indoor waterfall. If you're looking for a unique way to update the look of your kitchen or bathroom, a vessel sink may be exactly what you're looking for.
