hi; do you know anything about playing dough?
well becuase this saturday, i will be playing with
autistic people for this program.
and i wanted to do an arts and crafts session with them.
this class will be about 40 minutes.
and i thought that we should play dough.
and ive got some paint and christmas cookie cutters.
my question is...
when the dough is all dried, will it crack?
- we will be mixing only water and flour
if it does crack, are there any kind of glue in the craft stores or anywhere that can hold the dough together?
or can we do anything else about it?
please, help me.
i help these people every week, and i wanted to do something fun.
Here is a recipe for a cornstarch version
http://www.argostarch.com/recipe_details.asp?id=1286
1 cup Argo or Kingsford Corn Starch
1 pound (2 cups) baking soda
1-1/4 cups cold water
1 tablespoon Mazola Oil
1 tablespoon food color OR 1 to 2 teaspoons Rit Dye or paste food color
The web site has cooking directions
This might be a little stronger and the pieces last a little longer
If you have some candy molds like they have in some of the craft stores, The people could use them as a push mold.
Here is an example

I wish you well with your craft session.
