How large is a dire wolf? And how big was the largest dog ever recorded?
Plus how would you feel if you saw a ten foot tall yet gentle dog? Its paws would be bigger than your face! And its poop would be really big! XD And its head would be really big too! And what if it tried to sit on you! XD
The size of the dire wolf is often exaggerated. In reality, it was only a little larger than the grey wolf, but was more heavily built, with comparatively bigger jaws and shorter legs. The largest canid that ever lived was Epicyon haydeni, which approached a bear in size! Image:
