Babysitting Ideas?
I am babysitting a pre-schooler and a kindergardener for seven hours tonight,...any ideas as to what activities I can do with them?
I've already planned to have:
-treasure hunt
-valentines day craft
-movie and dinner
-make cookies?
please help!
It sounds to me like you've got a lot of really good ideas already. You can always play a board game like Monopoly Jr. if they have it, or a card game like Old Maid or Go Fish. One thing younger kids love is to be paid attention to and to be interacted with. Don't forget that they'll have to go down for bed at some point (I assume, since you say "tonight"), more than likely around 9 or 9:30, so if you're really planning on making cookies with them (which is a great idea, I think- my kindergarten sister loves helping me do that), you should do it earlier in the evening so that they'll be ready for snack after dinner, and you can clean up while they're working on crafts (which you could do second...?). Maybe you could use the cookies as treasure for the treasure hunt!
My best advice is to just have fun. If you really run out of things to do, ask them what they would like to do. What are some of their favorite toys? Or ask for a tour of the house- younger kids love knowing more than older kids and would be happy to oblige. Good Luck!
